Extra Time

Updated: Jul 22

The phrase 'extra time' can elicit both excitement and disappointment among students. "I'm giving you extra time to play," declares the teacher, prompting joyous reactions. However, the sentiment takes a downturn when the same teacher announces, "I'm taking extra time today to complete your lesson." It's a stark reminder that our perception of 'extra time' is contingent upon the circumstances.

In this context, I want to draw attention to the 'extra time' students consume while commuting between school and home or attending tuition classes. The extra time allocated for these activities has become a cause for concern. While some delays may be attributed to socializing with friends or encountering traffic, it is essential to recognize that 'extra time' might also be spent engaging in risky behaviors. If this time is dedicated to indulging in 'extra pleasure' through the consumption of narcotic drugs with peers or associates, it raises red flags.

Parents and guardians, it is crucial to be vigilant without assuming the role of a detective or a critic. Instead, approach the situation as a friend and well-wisher. It's high time to establish open communication channels with your child and create an environment where they feel comfortable discussing their experiences and challenges. By fostering a supportive relationship, you can help steer them away from the potential dangers of falling into the clutches of narcotic drugs. Awareness and proactive engagement are key in safeguarding your child's well-being.

Warm Regards,
